If you click on ADD TO PRE-SEL.LIST, all the conatacts selected are adding in the Study/Country Pre-Selected Contact.
Search Contact(s)
Simple Criteria
Next to the name of the respective criterion there is a drop down field. Here you can select the operator. Depending on the field, the following operators are available (an asterisk indicates that this operator is available for all fields):
- Contains
- Starts with
- Is equal to *
- Is different from *
- Does not contain
- Is empty *
- Not empty *
Next to the drop down field there is a field where you can enter the required search string if applicable. E.g., if you want to search for all correspondents from US, you will go to the field 'Country', select the operator 'Is equal to' and select 'US United States' from the pick list.
For the search string it is advisable to enter only a few characters to avoid a '0' result due to typing errors

Here you can define contact related search criteria.
Use the out drop down fields to select the appropriate operator (e.g., is equal to, <>, etc.).

Other Criteria
Here you can define study/center related search criteria.
E.g., you can look for correspondents that have worked as principal investigator in a specific study, or correspondents that have been involved in more than 3 studies, etc.
To define the more detailed criteria, you need to complete the 'In .' column first for the respective section (e.g., you need to select the study).
All studies entered in eTM are available for selection in the drop down list.
Note: Function in this screen refers to the function the correspondent had within the study, it does not refer to the function of the correspondent in his location.
"With a Center Status Equal to" refers to the scientific status of the Center.

Contact search result window is displayed automatically after having clicked on 'Start Search'. By default all correspondents found with your search are 'selected', i.e. the column 'Sel' is ticked for all.
Regarding the displayed correspondents, you can choose between different options:
SELECT ALL => Selects all correspondents displayed on this tab ('Sel' column is ticked).
REMOVE ALL => this deselects all correspondents displayed on this tab ('Sel' column becomes unticked).
ADD TO PRE-SEL.LIST => this adds the selected correspondents into the Study/Country Pre-selected Contact window.

If these criteria are sufficient for your search, which they will be in most cases, you can click on in the horizontal toolbar (START SEARCH) to start searching the global database without entering other criteria. After having clicked START SEARCH, the results of your search will be listed automatically, i.e., Study/Country Pre-Selected Contact window is displayed.

START SEARCH: to start the search with the defined criteria
REMOVE SEARCH CRITERIA: to remove all criteria
SAVE CRITERIA IN LIBRARY: to save search criteria as query in the library
Option in Search Contact(s) window:
OPEN LIBRARY: to open the library of saved search queries.
